Below are a very small selection of our patient and athlete testimonials and pictures. We are privileged to have treated all of our patients on their own journey.
“I can’t thank Neil enough since Pulse Physio was recommended to me by a senior orthopaedic consultant five years ago, when knee niggles started to appear after spending a considerable amount of my adult life running long distances for ‘fun’.
Not only has his encyclopaedic, yet practical, approach and knowledge to the human body and biomechanics been invaluable, but his infectious enthusiasm and positivity really has rubbed off which, together with his holistic advice, always leaves me feeling energised and confident with his suggested pathway after every session.
Neil’s most recent management of a work related shoulder injury, and his superbly tailored subsequent rehabilitation program following surgery, as well as assisting with a teenage daughter’s intermittent knee issues has merely confirmed my utmost trust and unwavering recommendation in his ability to help fix all ages, backgrounds and ranges of physiological issues thrown his way!”

“Pulse Sports Therapy has been my go-to clinic for the best part of a decade now. My only regret is that I didn’t find them sooner! I have attended all location clinics and under the guidance of Physiotherapist Neil Mason, I have been treated for all types of injury including post-surgical shoulder rehab, knee and ankle issues. The treatment I have received has been nothing but excellent. Neil goes above and beyond to give you the best possible care. His extensive knowledge-base and experience alongside his fantastic communication and understanding
means that you never leave without any questions unanswered. I enjoyed my interactions with him so much that I became a colleague working alongside him! I am very thankful for what Neil and the team have done for me and I genuinely can’t recommend them highly enough.”

“Neil has become a good friend since he first fixed my ankle some twenty years ago.
He always rebuilds me and shares my positive approach on fitness and indeed life!
I would not go to any other physio and I have achieved some amazing goals around the world thanks to his unparalleled expertise, motivation and caring approach”

“I have been fortunate to be under Neil Mason’s care since 2018, when I suffered two stress fractures in my lower spine. From the outset, Neil took complete initiative—arranging scans, referrals, and consultations with the right specialists, and guiding me through a personalised rehabilitation plan that brought me back to full health. He has treated me for virtually every injury since—from spinal fractures and a broken wrist to wrist cysts, shin splints, and shoulder issues. His depth of knowledge, hands-on skill, and absolute dedication make him a truly exceptional clinician.
But what really sets Neil apart is his care beyond the clinical. He’s consistently gone above and beyond, checking in on my health, asking after my family, and supporting me not just as a patient, but as a person. As a medical student myself, his guidance and encouragement have meant a great deal to me—he’s been a consistent source of wisdom, reassurance, and support throughout my journey.
In 2022, Neil introduced me to Joe Bendle, and the impact has been transformative. Joe’s expertise in strength and conditioning has taken my physical performance to a whole new level—improving my power, resilience, and golf game dramatically. Together, Neil and Joe form an outstanding team whose collaborative, holistic approach has helped me become a stronger, more complete and injury-resistant athlete.
Their synergy is seamless. Both are incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely invested in the wellbeing of those they care for. They don’t just treat injuries—they treat people. Every session is professional yet warm, structured yet personal. They make you feel seen, supported, and genuinely valued.
It is a pleasure to work with them, and a privilege to continue doing so. I trust them completely and look forward to a lifelong continuity of care with two professionals I not only respect immensely but also genuinely enjoy being around.”

“We have tried loads of different physios and nobody has come anywhere near the levels of service that myself and my family have received at PULSE. They really DO CARE and will give you so much more than just some exercises. They will support you both physically and mentally through your journey and they never give up!”

“I had seen a Consultant and Neil recognised that my injury was not what I was diagnosed with. He referred me to the right Consultant and one operation later I am back playing tennis and football with no groin pain for the first time in years!”
IGNACIO T
“I ran the London Marathon in memory of my Dad. I raised over £10.000 for my charity and Neils help and advice the PULSE team helped to get me across the line”.

“Neil was selected and requested by one of the UK’s leading knee surgeons and specialists in ACL reconstructions, to provide my pre-operative and post-operative physiotherapy treatment. I knew Neil must be exceptional in his field, because he was the sole physiotherapist to be recommended by my surgeon, who himself was the official surgeon to one of the top Premiership football clubs and consequently able to create a personal network of elite professionals. Under various other surgeons, I had already had surgery six times to my left knee and three to my right knee, which included ACL reconstructions to both, and I was very familiar with the rehabilitation process and I had experienced the vast differences in approach between physiotherapist practitioners. Meeting with Neil ahead my operation was very helpful. My surgeon was absolutely correct when he told me that I would get on very well with Neil. I had learned over the years just how vital that is for successful rehabilitation. Many hours are spent with the physiotherapist and the relationship makes so much difference to the journey – and the results. I left my first session with Neil feeling very confident. We’d discussed my background, the forthcoming surgery, the rehabilitation plans, and my goals. Neil had listened very attentively, clearly explained the framework of the rehabilitation ahead, given me realistic expectations and had answered all questions. I relayed my experience to my surgeon who gave me a knowing smile. I went into surgery feeling very positive and looking forward to getting into the rehabilitation phase with Neil. I genuinely felt excited. Two days after the surgery, I saw Neil and we got to work. Over the following weeks and months, I found every session with Neil to be extremely beneficial, in many ways. I made great progress physically and Neil’s approach is a very holistic one. On the occasions when I felt anxious or not as motivated, Neil would reassure me and have the answers in combination with the surgeon to allow me to reset and then continue to make positive progress. I have unfortunately had to manage two total hip replacements since and a number of other muscular injuries and I have gone straight to Neil who has been able to help me and support getting a solution to my concerns and help with my recovery at every stage. I have complete confidence in Neil and would recommend him to anybody facing or following any surgery or with any sports injury or similar and comes with my full recommendation for providing a personal caring and expert service.”

“Neil has been my physio for over 15 years and he has taken me through a number of operations on my knees and more recently, my foot and he has always made sure that I can get back to being active in the gym again and doing what I need to do! Thank you Neil for all the years and I hope not too many operations going forward. Thank you.”
THELMA P
“I have known Neil for years and as well as being a constant source
of advice and positivity he has helped me with any and every injury (?) I’ve encountered… all of this has contributed to me enjoying all my activities especially dancing!”

“I have known Neil for nearly four years now. He started off as my football coach and he is now my trusted and ‘go to’ physio. I wouldn’t use anyone else. I would highly recommend Neil and the PULSE team to anyone who needs a physio.”
HARRY W
“I am a woman in my mid-fifties and have been working with Neil and Joe from Pulse for nearly a year. I believe Neil’s title is ‘physio’ but I look on him as a physio cum health manager due to his holistic approach and involvement with my consultants and medical professionals, offering insights I haven’t been able to see, and paths forward when I feel I’m at a brick wall. Words I would use to describe Neil include tenacious, positive, practical, proactive, trustworthy, knowledgeable, caring.
After a few sessions with Neil he put me in touch with Joe, a personal trainer. I had no ‘work out’ experience, was incredibly unfit and had numerous health issues which impeded my movement and zapped my energy, so it took a lot to make that first step, but he put me at ease from the start. The pace and content of our sessions are always meticulously planned so that I feel they push me along without putting me off. Joe has a professionalism and dedication you would associate with someone twice his age. He is a natural teacher and imparts his training with precision, patience and consideration.
Ioe works closely with Neil so I’m benefiting from both their expertise, and this teamwork alongside their commitment and support is why Pulse stands out for me. Their input has been invaluable and I continue to build confidence and strength after years of declining health and fitness. I recommend unreservedly and wholeheartedly”.

“I have been working with Neil and the PULSE team for three years now. I injured my knee very badly when wakeboarding and they are helping me rebuild my strength and confidence in my knee. It is hard work BUT I am getting there”.
GARETH S
“I was first recommended to Neil Mason by a friend around the mid to late 1990’s. I was then in my early forties and had been involved in both individual and team sports as a competitor from an early age, and later as a coach, and administrator.
My extensive involvement came with the unfortunate but inevitable downside of regular injuries, and several decades of competitive football and squash, combined with many rounds of golf took its toll on body. During this time my treatment and rehab had invariably been reactive and it wasn’t until I met up with Neil following ankle surgery that things changed for me.
Amongst many other things, Neil advised me on the value of prehab and a positive attitude, key factors that would stand me in good stead to this very day. Over the following years Neil has helped me deal with a number of injuries, the worst of which was an ACL rupture in 2010. Following surgery my orthopaedic consultant advised that I should convert to non-contact sports that involved running in straight lines only. I thought he was joking, but that turned out to be wishful thinking! I’d recently got involved with parkrun and with Neil’s help I was able to slowly and steadily progress my 5k parkruns, to races at 5 miles, 10k, 10 miles and half marathons. Then, some 5 years after the ACL injury, I ran my first marathon in 2015. Two London Marathons followed in 2016 & 2018 and a very warm feeling of being able to raise several thousand pounds for charities.
I had to accept that the training intensity required to compete at these long distances was a little too much for my patched-up knee and ankle and ailing lower back, so I reset my goals to shorter middle-distance running. My retirement from work at the age of 64 in 2020 gave me an element of freedom to better plan my training and successes followed in 2021/2022 at the Surrey & Sussex County Championships. A 1500 metres gold medal in the Over 65’s category and silver in the 5000 meters, together with an Over 65 UK ranking of 10th, Europe 64th and World 79th (all 10,000 metres on the track) were very satisfying achievements for me.
I was probably fitter and stronger than at any time in my life and this was greatly due to the support I had received from Neil Mason and his team at Pulse. Now approaching the age of 69 my journey continues. Currently I’m awaiting hip replacement surgery, which has unfortunately been put on hold as a result of ongoing radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer which was diagnosed in December 2024. Despite these setbacks my outlook is very positive and as always Neil has continued to support me through this difficult time. There is no doubt that I will continue to work with him and come through with more aims and goals to achieve.”

“The best sports therapists are an integral part of your support team and steer you along the way, and Neil has done exactly that for me over the last 25 years.
In my twenties I was pushing my body to the limits as a netballer on the national club and county circuit. In those days, ankle and knee injuries from playing on hard courts were common-place and sadly, I was unlucky to suffer the injury all netballers dread, a torn ACL. It took me out of the game for a while, but the support Neil offered before, during and after surgery was second to none. It included referrals to trusted specialists, a comprehensive rehab plan (and he knew if I’d not stuck to it) and plenty of moral support. Especially as it wasn’t a smooth journey and took two reconstruction ops to put it right. We got there in the end.
In my thirties, I did go back to netball, but never quite to that same competitive level, so I needed to replace my thirst for fitness and competition with something else. Running. Well, I’m going in a straight line with less twisting and turning, so the knee should be OK, shouldn’t it? Step in Neil once again. I’m not sure when I told him I was doing the London Marathon, but he knew me well enough to have figured it out already. Training plans, strength work, practical tips, much needed muscle rubs, and importantly, plenty of moral support. He got me through that gruelling 26.2 miles, but he did recommend not to do it again, and I listened. He’ll be honest when he needs to be.
Road running took its toll so I carry a few niggles and picked up a foot injury. In my forties I have turned to swimming. Much less impact on these old joints, but Neil is still by my side. The conversations we have these days are about the rounded approach. How can I enhance my training plan with complementary exercise like yoga and pilates, what about the strength and conditioning work, stretching, sleep, recovery, nutrition? Neil is able to advise on all of it and help me think more holistically about my current fitness goals and looking after my body so I can continue to exercise and enjoy sport for many years to come.
I still enjoy my netball, but these days as a volunteer with the Jamaica squad when they’re competing in the UK. I was lucky enough to work with them at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham for their historic silver medal, their highest ever placing. It was an honour to be behind the scenes in the athlete’s village and witness the competition regimes of a whole range of sports. Neil would have been in his element!
I strongly recommend Neil and his team if you’re looking for more than a standard physio offering. He will consider the full picture, and cares about helping you reach your goals. Beware of his voice notes when you least expect it, he’s always checking you’re staying on track!”

“I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2007 at the age of 63. It’s affected the use of my hands and my mobility. I’m able to walk quite well for about 45 minutes without a break but it’s at this point that the MS kicks in. I first came into contact with Pulse Sports Therapy for physio following knee and hip surgery and to work on improving my movement following the MS. But it was when I began seeing Neil for 45 minutes on a weekly basis that I became very aware of how well I was responding to the exercises he’d devised for our sessions, all based on the work that he does with patients who’ve got a variety of neurological disorders. I’ve been seeing him since 2010 and the benefit is both physical and mental. He’s inspirational and further encourages and supports me in my determination to maintain an exercise routine at home. I now regularly do 40 minutes (10 miles) of exercise bike to strengthen my legs, and ball juggling to keep my fingers and hands supple and to improve my balance and coordination. Without our weekly sessions and what I do at home my MS would gradually deteriorate. However, thanks to Neil, it is stable”.

“Having not played football since my mid thirties, in 2017 I decided to give walking football a go at the age of 71. After playing for about 6 months I sustained a strain to my left Achilles as well as suffering from tendinitis in my right Achilles.
Following a recommendation I booked an appointment to see Neil at Pulse. After a course of treatment and a programme of exercises I was back playing in under 6 weeks, and to this date I have not had a single day’s problem with my Achilles.
In 2021 whilst playing in a friendly match I pulled a quad muscle as I tried to knock a long ball upfield. This injury could not have come at a worse time as I was due to play 9 days later for England Over 75’s at The FA HQ , St George’s Park.
The chances of that happening looked slim so I contacted Neil the morning after and he was able to see me that day. Although it was a long shot he said he would do all he could to try and give me the best chance of playing. Over the next week he worked extensively on the quad and also advised the wearing of compression shorts.
Thanks to Neil I was able to play (with some restriction) for which I was truly grateful. I have full confidence in Neil and the team at Pulse and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody who requires any of the treatments they have to offer.”
